Permitted assistance
AI tools may support topic discovery, research organisation, transcription, draft structure, headline options, metadata, image planning and production checks. Their output is treated as working material, not verified evidence or final editorial approval.
Human review before publication
A person reviews the article, checks material claims and sources, resolves uncertainty, assesses local context and approves the final version. Automated systems do not receive permission to publish unchecked articles as Tech Embed reporting.
What AI must not be used to fabricate
- Quotes, interviews, eyewitness accounts or source identities.
- Hands-on product testing, measurements or experiences that did not occur.
- Prices, specifications, funding figures, legal claims, dates or other factual details without verification.
- Images presented as documentary photographs of real events when they are generated or illustrative.
Images and disclosure
AI-assisted or generated editorial images should be labelled when their realistic appearance could be mistaken for documentary evidence. Articles include additional disclosure when AI use is material to how readers should interpret the work.
Sensitive information
Passwords, one-time codes, private financial details, confidential source material and unnecessary personal information should not be entered into public AI services. Access to provider accounts and saved material should be limited to authorised work.
Accountability and correction
Tech Embed remains responsible for what it publishes regardless of which tools assisted production. A problem caused by an AI tool is handled like any other editorial error and corrected under the Corrections Policy.
